Sample Resumes

Shannon Terry with Resume Confidence has provided sample resumes showing "before" and "after" versions of the "Quick Make Over" and "Personalized Resume Revamp".

All versions are in chronological style.  A chronological resume is the most well-known, 'classic' style.  It lists your skills and experience under each job title, in reverse order starting with your most recent employment and working backwards through your history.  Chronological resumes show where and when you gained specific work experience.  They are a good format for showcasing a strong, stable work history of employment in similar positions and/or industries.

• Format is from a standard, online template which lacks originality and impact

• Objective statement is generic and should be obvious in the cover letter

• Content is a list of ‘duties’ and doesn’t showcase anything special or ‘stand-out’ about the applicant

• References and personal information do not belong on a resume
